Our goal is to have Checkpoint #1 done by next Monday, October 9th. Students should also be working on their Book Journal. Entries that are not completed during Project Time (at school) should be completed that night at home. We also begin new ideas in Social Studies: Egypt! One Wednesday, students used the following Checklist to explore the upcoming Focus Areas. Students will sign into Thrively and take a Strengths Test This week we begin a new project! This week we continue to survive, and make plans to thrive!
We will learn more about how prehistoric humans evolved as survivors. Click here to view the deck. We will learn and practice several reading strategies to prepare for the Content Assessment in the Focus Area called Reading Strategies 6. This week we begin Project Survive! We will read the novel Hatchet and complete the Summit Focus Area on Early Humans, as well as complete a survival simulation. We borrowed Hatchet from the school library, but the text is also available online, here.
